We know that in order to dramatically increase student achievement in the Road Map Project region, there will need to be policy changes on multiple levels. This is where the Advocacy Agenda comes into play.
The first version of the Advocacy Agenda was created in 2011 with the formation of the Advocates Caucus. This sub-committee of the Community Network Steering Committee set out to identify areas of policy change on state, school district and community levels to help drive the work of the Road Map Project.
To create the agenda, the Advocates Caucus solicits input annually from each work group that is developing an action plan. The caucus also considers strategies that promote general alignment with the Road Map Project to build community strength.
