The Road Map Project is working to improve outcomes for 16 to 24 year olds who are not connected to school or work. This broad group came together during 2014 to learn about the local opportunity youth population, discuss the needs of our region and develop an action plan focused on building a coordinated, robust re-engagement system to reconnect young people to education, with the goal of college or career credentials. Work is underway in the four areas of the action plan: improving supply, coordination, quality and access.
To advance implementation of the action plan, CCER and King County also convene a community of practice called the King County Re-engagement Provider Network.
To ensure that opportunity youth have access to the expanded options that exist in our community, King County Employment and Education Resources and CCER launched Reconnect to Opportunity in late 2015.
To support regional alignment, this group also advises on the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative and SkillUp Washington’s Generation Work initiative. Meeting materials related to Generation Work are housed here.
